Install StrongPrivacy on Shopify.

Connect your store, turn on the app embed in your theme, and check that visitors' choices reach Shopify's Customer Privacy API.

Installing a managed property?

Verify domain authorization and complete reviewed activation before a new managed property can serve its configuration. Follow the managed-service handoff, then return here for your platform’s installation steps. Installation status alone is not a live verification result.

Before you connect

Connecting takes a few minutes and is done from your StrongPrivacy workspace and your Shopify admin.

  • A StrongPrivacy workspace.
  • Permission to install apps in your Shopify admin: the store owner, or staff with app permissions.
  • A Shopify property in StrongPrivacy for the store. Its domain must match the store's domain in Shopify.

You never share Shopify credentials

You only enter your store's*.myshopify.comdomain and approve the installation in Shopify. StrongPrivacy never asks for your Shopify password or API keys.

Connect a store

StrongPrivacy requests an expiring offline access token, stores its refresh pair atomically, subscribes to lifecycle webhooks, and prepares the selected property for the storefront extension.

  1. 1

    Select the Shopify property

Open Integrations → Shopify and choose the property that belongs to this store. The generated values and connection are scoped to that property.
  2. 2

    Enter the permanent store domain

Use the store’s *.myshopify.com domain, even when shoppers visit a custom storefront domain.
  3. 3

    Approve the Shopify installation

Select Connect Shopify, review the requested access in Shopify, and approve it. StrongPrivacy validates the returned state and signature before storing credentials.
  4. 4

    Activate the app embed

Use Open theme editor, make sure the StrongPrivacy app embed is enabled for the live theme, and save the theme.

Verify the storefront

Test the live storefront in a fresh browser session before considering the installation complete.

  • The banner appears for a visitor with no stored decision.
  • Optional analytics and marketing requests do not run before consent.
  • Accept, reject, and granular choices update Shopify Customer Privacy.
  • The footer privacy control reopens preferences after a decision.
  • The dashboard reports the extension runtime as connected.

If any check fails, use the Shopify troubleshooting checklist.
